- Opening Night in Las Vegas... yes! Unable to get tickets to the opening night of the ZooTV tour (less than an hour from my school at that time, in Orlando), I was determined to get to the first PopMart show, just five hours from my home (now in LA). Prop came through with tickets and then in April, it was off across the desert, a freshly made B-sides and remix tape blasting.
Unfortunately, the show was kind of weak musically (they really weren't ready) and I was stuck in seats behind the Lemon, so I couldn't even see the giant screen. Yikes. I can't imagine having gotten WORSE photos, since anywhere else in the stadium would have gotten at least the screen. I was glad to be there, but the experience certainly wasn't what it could have been. Still, I got to hear "Do You Feel Loved" live and the way they played "Bullet the Blue Sky" that night felt even more stripped down than it did later in the tour, and I really liked that.
I'd snuck a disposable in there, but it really didn't work, mostly because of my crappy seats. I'll post these photos anyway, as an example of how to save money by not bothering with a disposable from the stands.
